Layers with Illustrator

From my computing lesson on Friday I discovered further ways to adapt my pattern. I used illustrator to use the use of layers to create pattern. At first I found it difficult to use as I was becoming familiar with the tools and what they do. As you can see in the pattern I have applied block colour of purple to emphasis the heaviness of colour a cabbage holds when the lines overlap each other. Although I think I need to experiment and practise using this technique more as it doesn't really follow any type of design. If I was to do this again I would think more of applying this in a repeating way to create a clear pattern. However the pen tracings of black lines I think worked well as a layer for this design because it emphasises the boldness of form for the cabbage.
