Over the past 2 weeks I have been doing a project in computing. I have had to use my skills from illustrator that I have formed over the term. I had done a few practices with the tools so I find doing this project a little easier. I used the pen tool to highlight each part of the trainer and t shirt to produce these outcomes. For the t-shirt I used clipping mask to produce a design. I got a plain t-shirt design from online for the main t shirt. then I picked a pattern from google images to then save to my documents. I then opened this up on a separate layer to the t-shirt to then print text over the image. I made different thicknesses to the text so that the pattern is more visible. I then selected each the pattern and the text from this I then pressed 'clipping mark'>>>>'make'. to then print the pattern inside the text. I like the out come of this although, I don't think that this pattern I picked was create to be put on a white background as the white within the black and white pattern faded to the white t-shirt.
The next part of the project I picked a trainer to trace around then used a filler to fill the shapes inside the shoe. I did find this difficult as I let go at some points of my shoe design so that the outline of each shapes aren't fully drawn. Which effects the filler as then not all parts of the shape is filled. if I was to do this again I would go round each part that was perfect so that when I used the filler I can fill each shape correctly.
I do see these designs applied in the industry. As fashion brands display their titles and brand name to make people more draw to their brand. As a company they can make a pattern in their style and put it in the letters of their brand. Which then gives away style as well as the name.
Overall I think that the clipping mask on the t-shirt worked better than the shoe design as I didn't trace round the shoe as well as I could. Therefore next time I would spend more time and plan how I would attack this design as there are many elements and lines to the shoe. If I was to plan it then the lines would have turned out more connected and better to use the fill tool around the whole shoe so not leaving any blank spaces.
