Social Media - brands
Social Media
Today in college I learnt another side of social media. I discovered how much actually brands rely on it for advertisement. We as individual users of Instagram make up 111 million active accounts on the app. We brows and followed fashion brands of course, but did you know fashion brands also use, snapchat, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to do the same thing. Instagram is more visual to appeal audiences and also people can post updates easily and also on an Instagram story. YouTube ables designers to show past catwalks and garment constructions to give people an insight of what goes on all around their brand. Snapchat lets several people log in and take over. This bales brands to get people to film their experiences with how they find the brands clothes, have their ordered garments? Or even film them in the shop. Even by this it gives viewers information on where stores are and also that they can order clothes. Facebook, displays their sign with contacts and links to the brand. They also produce ‘live chat’ so that viewers can talk to someone part of their team. Twitter is the most assessable for brands as they can post quick short posts about flash sales or the latest news. The only downfall would be that there’s not as many users on this sight as much as the other examples.
Not just brands use social media, artists do too. An artist called Gretchen Roehrs was discovered in the ever expanding crowd of artists on Instagram. She stood out with her whimsical fashion illustrations created with simple lines of ink placed together with edibles. Therefore you can also get noticed from social media sights.
